Phi Gamma Delta History

The Nu Delta Chapter,

was chartered in October 2009 and has flourished ever since. Since our founding brothers, we have grown to over 80 brothers who all embody the five core values of Phi Gamma Delta.

We pride ourselves in being one of the best well-rounded fraternities at the University of Delaware; with successful brotherhood, athletics, academics, social and philanthropic events we are constantly striving for excellence.

FIJI is also "not for college days alone," as we continue the emphasis on brotherhood even after graduation. Every Spring we host the oldest chapter-based graduate event in the Greek world, the Pig Dinner.

Since the founding date May 1, 1848 at Jefferson College in Canonsburg, PA, Phi Gamma Delta has over 170,000 initiated brothers in 126 chapters internationally. The "Immortal Six" have created a foundation of traditions and brotherhood that has lasted in one of the oldest fraternities alive today.

Phi Gamma Delta Mission:

"Phi Gamma Delta exists to promote lifelong friendships, to reaffirm high ethical standards and values, and to foster personal development in the pursuit of excellence. Phi Gamma Delta is committed to provide opportunities for each brother to develop responsibility, leadership, scholorship, and social skills in order to become a fully contributing member of society."
